"Rachel's Gift is a beautifully written story about a little girl who puts others before herself. I read this story to my students. They were intent and quiet throughout the book. We would stop and chat and make some predictions about upcoming pages. They were so excited at the end! Wonderful story and I highly recommend!"

About the Author

Throughout her career as an educator, Lisa Jacoby found her greatest motivation in observing and learning from her students. Shared reading was always a highlight of her day; she paid close attention to which stories resonated with her classes and why. This deep connection inspired her to craft her own narratives that both entertain young readers and impart meaningful life lessons. Lisa’s lifelong passion for literature began in her local library, which has always been her happy place. Though she started writing stories as a teenager, it was only after her own children reached adulthood that she felt compelled to return to her craft and put her ideas back onto the page. Guided by the unwavering encouragement of her grandmother, Lisa set a goal to self-publish her debut book, Rachel's Gift. The character of Rachel is a tribute to both the wonderful children Lisa taught over the years and her grandmother, a woman who embodied the spirit of giving without expectation. Lisa Jacoby holds a BA in English and an MST in Elementary Education. Over her decades in the classroom, she taught every grade from pre-kindergarten through seventh, cherishing every moment spent with her remarkable students. Recently retired from her teaching career, Lisa now resides and writes in the beautiful Hudson Valley alongside her husband.
